I like it! I wish there was more of a melody and that the dynamic compression weren't so intense, but besides that, it's a great song! (The compression thing is more of a personal preference, most people seem to love heavy compression.) I don't see how it fits the "progressive pop" subgenre, but the idea of a prog rock and pop fusion sounds really cool!

Yeah it was a composition assignment from college XDDD It was fun, it was written in 3/4, and I assigned every note to a part of the measure. So it would look something like this
1 & 2 & 3 & | 1 & 2 & 3 &

Where 0 = C and 11 = B.
From there I came up with a tone row and filled in the gaps from there lol It was a really fun assignment and charting it into Famitracker was really fun XD

I didn't think there was a way to make "Take On Me" sound more "80s cheese" than it already does, but dang you managed to do it.
I waited two minutes and eleven seconds for a bass drop and yet there was none. I think you meant "bridge", not "bass drop". There were zero qualities of dubstep throughout the entire song, so why is it labelled in that genre?

The low end is very muddy. I think the problem may be caused by having chords grouped together too closely in the bass clef.
Otherwise, it sounds weird, spacey, and hopeless.

Thanks! This is actually something old that I did back before I knew what equalizing and counterpoint was and I had an addiction to nothing but b a s s lol. That's probably what happened If I ever find the original file I'll upload a cleaner version. :) Thanks for the review!
